“Oh Deer!”, Westmorland Woman Charged for Housing Wildlife
Westmorland, NY (WIBX) - "Oh Deer!", that may have been the reaction of officers as they attempted to serve a search warrant at a Westmorland home.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Department and State DEC officials, the lawmen were greeted at the door by a deer as they attempted to execute that search warrant.
Authorities say the also found a living, breathing squirrel inside the dwelling as well.
Diane Griffith was charged by the Department of Environmental Conservation for having a deer and squirrel living in the residence, she was also arrested for possessing a pistol without a permit.
Authorities say her Husband, Bruce Griffin was also charged for possessing a rifle as a convicted felon.
