Oneida County Unveils First Purple Heart Sign [VIDEO]
The first sign designating Oneida County as a Purple Heart County was unveiled Wednesday morning off of Thruway Exit 31 in Utica.
Joe Fraccola, Vice Commander for the New York Military Order of the Purple Heart, says they're honored to have Oneida County as one of ten Purple Heart Counties across New York.
County Executive Anthony Picente says they'll be placing 34 signs on main roads throughout the county.
Picente says the goal is to have as many of the signs up before Memorial Day.
