Poland Man Seriously Injured After Crashing Truck Into Tree
A Poland man is facing a number of charges and a number of injuries following a one-car crash in the Town of Deerfield.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Maciol, 53-year-old Terry Mayer was allegedly driving irratically on Walker Road.
Witnesses claim Mayer was striking mailboxes and leaving the shoulder of the road. He then crossed into the opposite lane and struck a tree in a residential yard.
Mayer was treated at the scene by the Deerfield Fire Department and transported to St. Elizabeth's for head and chest injuries.
Following an investigation, Mayer was charged with DWAI/Drugs, Operating with a Revoked license and a number of other traffic violations. The list includes "No insurance, unregistered vehicle, switched plates, unlicensed, failed to keep right, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.
He will answer the charges in the Town of Deerfield Court at a later date.
