Police Seek Clues After Freight Train Hits, Kills Pedestrian
DUNKIRK, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a pedestrian was hit by a freight train and killed in western New York.
Police say it appears two people had been walking along tracks in the Chautauqua (shuh-TAH'-kwah) County city of Dunkirk early Wednesday when one of them was hit by a CSX train.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward, including the second person.
The victim's name isn't being released until family members can be notified.
A road near the tracks was closed for several hours while police investigated. It has since re-opened.
