WOLCOTT, N.Y. (AP) — State police are still trying to identify the remains of a woman found 14 years ago in upstate New York.

Troopers say the body of an unidentified woman was discovered in August 2002 in a wooded area next to a fishing access roadway in the town of Wolcott, about 40 miles east of Rochester.

It's estimated the body was left there sometime between late June and early August, but it was too decomposed to identify. Authorities believe the victim was between 20 and 40 years old and was seven months pregnant when she died.

Specific race of the victim is not known, but indicators show she may be Hispanic, black or of mixed race.

Anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Police.
