President Obama has approved the state's request for a federal disaster declaration followng last month's flooding.

Counties eligible for FEMA funding include Oneida, Herkimer, Madison and Montgomery.

Governor Cuomo presented the President with data that demonstrated the damage to public infrastructure had exceeded $32.7 million, well above the state's $26.7 million per capita threshold.

Federal funding is for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities.
