Prostitution Sting Nabs Former Syracuse Basketball Player

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police arrested several people following a reverse prostitution sting. One of those arrested is former Syracuse basketball player, 25-year-old Joshua Wright. Officials charged him with Patronizing a Prostitute and Loitering for the Purpose of Engaging in Prostitution.

The other four suspects are facing similar charges. Officials say 39-year-old Israel Rosado had an open warrant for his arrest on a Harassment charge, and is also facing Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle. The sting operation was conducted by Utica Police Special Operations Unit.

The other suspects are:

• Jacob Groben, age 38 of Clinton is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution (violation).
• Edward McInnis, age 54 of Utica is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution (violation).
• Stephen Grant, age 43 of Utica is charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution (violation).
