Today marks the fifth anniversary of the death of Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Kurt Wyman.

Wyman was shot and killed in the line of duty during a standoff in the Town of Augusta on June 7th 2011.

Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol calls it “the darkest day in (his) tenure as Sheriff.”

A Remembrance Ceremony was held this afternoon in front of the Kurt B Wyman Law Enforcement Building in Oriskany.

Maciol says the ceremony, which is held each year, is a way to remember Kurt and the sacrifice he made serving the people of Oneida County.
