After eight years as the head of the Rescue Mission of Utica, Reverend Bill Dodge is stepping down from his post.

In a written statement, Rev. Dodge said he came into the job with three goals; "to upgrade the emergency shelter... strengthen and restructure the staff, and tell the story of the good work... done for the needy."

He also discussed his intent to continue assisting the needy in other ways, and lauded the Mohawk Valley's kindness through donations.

The Rescue Mission is now searching for a new executive director.
