On the brink of punching their own ticket to the postseason, the New York Jets saw their season come to an end on Sunday after a critical 22-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdowns and helped rally his team from an early 13-0 deficit. But, the former Bills' signal caller was intercepted on each of the Jets' final three possessions, including one ball that was targeted for the end zone after New York marched 58 yards into Buffalo territory and looked primed to take its first lead of the game.

From there, the Bills countered with Dan Carpenter's third field goal of the afternoon and snatched two more picks from Fitzy.

Tyrod Taylor threw for 182 yards with 136 of them being credited Sammy Watkins. He had 11 catches and ran free in single coverage for most of the game. Taylor and the big Karlos Williams each ran for a score.

While you can bet Rex Ryan is savoring a season sweep of his former team - and Sunday's death blow to Gang Green's playoff hopes - Buffalo ends its season at 8-8. Their league-longest active playoff drought stands intact at 16 consecutive seasons.

The Jets end their first year under head coach Todd Bowles at 10-6, but obviously disappointed. Pittsburgh (10-6) was able to snag the sixth and final spot in the AFC by defeating Cleveland 28-12.
