Robert Channing speed paints Dwayne “The Pearl” Washington at Boeheim Event

New Hartford Speed Painter Robert Channing worked his magic recently at Jim and Juli Boeheim's 17th Annual Basket Ball at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino Event Center.  Channing's paintings, including a work featuring the late great Dwayne "The Pearl" Washington, were highlighted in a live auction that brought in some $40,000.

Jim Beoheim showed his love for Dwayne Washington by purchasing Channing's 'The Pearl' glitter painting for $10,000 and announcing his plans to hang the artwork in the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center.  The speed and glitter painting of the Syracuse Super 7 basketball players raised close to $30,000.  Overall, the 2017 Basket Ball event raised over $600,000 for the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation.

“This is something that I truly love to do,” Channing says. “Painting 'The Pearl', in front of the Boeheims and the entire Syracuse team, was extremely emotional for everyone involved and I cannot thank Jim and Juli Boeheim enough for giving me the opportunity to help them raise money for such a great cause.”

Channing has been featured on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” NBC’s “Today Show,” Steve Harvey and millions of viewers while speed-painting Harvey himself on “The Steve Harvey Show,” and recently on Fox and Friends.  He performed for and painted Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers, created a one-of-a-kind glitter painting for real estate mogul and Presidential candidate Donald Trump, surprised world's tennis champ Serena Williams and Super Bowl MVP-winning quarterback Drew Brees, and has headlined for colleges and universities, corporations and CEOs all across the nation.
