Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica Mayor David Roefaro is calling on the Hess Corporation to remove cigarette pricing ads from Utica's curbsides.Roefaro says the signs have been displayed for months and send a mixed message to kids as the new school year begins.

He says the lawn signs which read "Cigarettes, Lowest Prices Allowed by Law", are even more visible than the ads that blend in with gas stations and while this may be just another way to entice a buyer, it ends up affecting our kids.

The Mayor says he knows Hess will do the right thing and "snuff out" the ads.
