Rome, NY (WIBX) - This Saturday, at 7 p.m. the Capitol Theatre in Rome will host a screening of the World War Two tribute film, "Red Tails."

Mayor Joe Fusco says the movie is a way to remember those who've served, but those who lost their lives.

"We felt it was very important that we bring this movie to the City of Rome because we have one of Rome's residents, Herb Thorpe, is a Tuskegee Airman," Fusco said. "Also, his brother, Richard Thorpe, was a Tuskegee Airman and was killed in World War II."

Fusco is also honoring the Capitol Theatre, presenting the group with a $9,000 check from his Mayor's Ball. The funds will be used for the Theatre's marquee project.

Saturday's event is held in partnership with First Source Federal Credit Union, Mike and Debbie Grogan, Amcare Ambulance Service, Dave Riley and the Veteran's Council of Rome.
