Rome, NY (WIBX) - A Rome man faces multiple charges after Rome Police say he held a woman captive and raped her.

On Sunday, officers responded to a home on the 300 block of East Dominick Street for a reported rape. When they arrived, a woman told them that a man she knew had tied her up, held her captive inside her home and raped her.

The suspect was identified as John Santoro, 24, who had already fled his home on First Street. He was found later at a home in Utica, where he was arrested.

Santoro faces two counts of rape, one count of criminal sexual act and one count of unlawful imprisonment. He is being held in the Oneida County Correctional Facility.
