Rome Man Arrested Following Domestic Dispute

A Rome man is facing charges following a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 48-year old Richard Jones allegedly assaulted a 56-year-old woman in a vehicle as the couple was driving home from a bar in Rome.

Deputies say the incident was never reported to the police until an anonymous tip was received the next morning

Jones is charged with assault and harassment.  The Sheriff's Office says the investigation is continuing and more charges may be pending or upgraded.

The female victim was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
