Rome Man Charged With Aggravated DWI
A Rome man is facing charges following a one-car accident in Rome.
Rome Police say officers tried to pull over 35-year old Michael Oakes on East Dominick Street, but Oakes failed to stop and continued driving.
After leading police on a low-speed chase, Oakes eventually left the road on Ann Street and struck some power poles, causing power lines to fall to the ground.
Oakes was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI, operating a motor vehicle out of interlock device and aggravated unlicensed operation, along with numerous vehicle and traffic violations.
