Sauquoit Woman Escapes Serious Injury

A Sauquoit woman escaped serious injury when her car hit a tree.

New Hartford Police say 23-year old Melissa Gehrke lost control of her car on Roberts Road in the area of Massoud's Tree Farm, hit a mailbox, went airborne and crashed into a tree.

Gehrke suffered injuries to her face and wrist.

Police say Gehrke escaped serious injury due to the use of her seatbelt and airbag deployment in the vehicle.
