Up Close Highlights of April's Birth & Calf's First Steps

Millions waited all March for April. The giraffe at Animal Adventure Park finally gave birth to a boy. Did you miss it or want to see it again? Watch up close highlights of the birth and the baby taking its first steps.

You can also help the park name the new giraffe at NameAprilsCalf.com. You can enter and vote on as many names as you want. Votes are $1 each and all the money raised will go towards a number of organizations.

1. Giraffe Conservation Efforts in the wild.
2. Ava's Little Heroes, an event named after the daughter of the park owners, who suffers from a rare form of epilepsy. The funds generated for this annual campaign support local families and their children experiencing unexpected medical journeys and expenses.
3. The Animal Adventure park will continue to improve the animal and guest experiences at the park with further improvements and projects.

You can vote on any name or names for 10 days. You can even decide your own spelling. The top 10 names will then be revealed and you can go back and vote more.

Both April and baby are doing fine. "Everything went absolutely perfect," says park owner Jordan Patch. "Couldn't have planned it better. Perfect delivery. Perfect fall. Thanks for joining us on this journey. It's not over yet. It's just the beginning."
