Sheriff’s Office Uses Burglary Investigation As A Teachable Moment

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is taking the opportunity to remind the public if you see something say something.

Sheriff Maciol says, at approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday a resident on Luke Road in the Town of Marcy called in what appeared to be a burglary in progress at their neighbor's house.

Deputies and State Police officials responded to the scene, detained two subjects and interviewed them.

Investigators were not able to contact or locate the homeowner, but it appears the two individuals were not burglarizing the house.

The two were released and no charges have been filed. Maciol says, the 911 call was a good intent call and the neighbor did the right thing by reporting the possible incident.
