GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — A small upstate New York museum known for its extensive collection of Old Masters and Renaissance art is receiving artworks valued at $10 million from a local collector.

The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls says it's receiving a gift of more than 100 pieces from architect Werner Feibes of Schenectady (skeh-NEHK'-ta-dee), along with another $1 million in cash for building a new gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art.

Officials at The Hyde on Wednesday will officially announce its largest donation since Charlotte Hyde bequeathed her home and art to create the museum in 1952.

The Hyde announced last year that Feibes and the late James Schmitt donated 55 pieces of modern art from their collection, including works by Ellsworth Kelly and Robert Motherwell.

The Hyde's art collection includes works by Rembrandt, van Gogh, Degas, Renoir and Picasso.
