State Labor Department Releases October Unemployment Rates

The New York State Labor Department is releasing preliminary unemployment numbers for October.

The unemployment rate in the Utica-Rome area was 7.2 %, down from October 2012's 8.1%

The state jobless rate was 7.7% last month.

According to the Labor Department. New York State's private sector job count increased by nearly 113,000 from October 2012 to October of this year.
