State Police Investigating Fatal Accident In Sangerfield

A Canastota man was killed in a one-car crash in the Town of Sangerfield.

State Police say 71-year old Lavern Grant was traveling on Saw Mill Road Monday night when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck an embankment.

Grant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the pickup Grant was driving was towing a cattle trailer containing 44 cattle.

The investigation into the accident is continuing.
