Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente and Governor Cuomo's Mohawk Valley Working Group have signed an agreement to transfer the former Oneida County Airport property from the county to the state.

The state will use the 1,120 acre site in Oriskany to grow and enhance first responder training operations at the New York State Preparedness Training Center.

The state purchased the property from the county for $10 million.  They've already made $30 million in capital investment at the site.

Today's announcement follows the Governor's Capital for a Day event held in the Mohawk Valley in August.
