Local police, fire, public works crews and utility workers were busy last night as severe storms moved through the area.

The New Hartford Police and Fire Departments and New York Mills Fire Department responded to 45 calls for downed power lines, flooded roads and trees and limbs that came down blocking roads.

At least one home may have been struck by lightning.

Crews from the New Hartford Town Highway Department and Village DPW worked throughout the night to clear roads of downed trees and debris.

Utility workers also worked throughout the night, restoring power to most residents by early this morning.
