Suspect Apprehended In Killing Of Man Found Dead In River
TICONDEROGA, N.Y. (AP) — Police say an upstate New York man suspected in a slaying last week has been found hiding near the Canadian border.
Ticonderoga police and New York State Police say they apprehended 38-year-old Michael LaRock Monday afternoon at a home in Norfolk in St. Lawrence County.
The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports LaRock was arrested without incident and has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence and concealment of a human corpse.
Police say LaRock killed 37-year-old William Brown, whose body was found in the LaChute River in Ticonderoga Friday morning with a gunshot wound to the head.
Authorities haven't said what led to the killing. Brown was a retired U.S. Army veteran.
It couldn't be learned from prosecutors if Larock has a lawyer.
