A Department of Energy laboratory has been allocated $15 million by the state of New York for a new microscope — capable of studying objects and life-forms in extremely cold temperatures.

New York is getting all fired up about wood heating, awarding a total of three million dollars to 18 researchers and businesses throughout the state.
