For the first time in years, there will be a rare sunrise eclipse. Only part of the U.S. will get to see it. Luckily, that part will be in Central New York.
The local Broome County observatory is offering a preview of the Great American Solar Eclipse, preparing people in the region for the darkening of the sun this month.
Sky-watchers get a double treat this weekend. In addition to a full, Harvest Moon that should appear very large since it will be the closest full moon of the year to the earth according to NASA lunar experts, there will be a total lunar eclipse as well.
