The #UticaBigBang2014 winner Christina Valenti actually blew up the Fay Street Warehouse building. There was some question as to how she would exactly participate in the demolition. She did indeed push the final charge.

UPDATE: 03/02/2014  Authorities say the Department of Transportation, along with the implosion contractor, were able to expedite the minor repair needed to reopen the Route 5-8-12 southbound lanes.  The southbound lanes should be open to traffic by 6:00pm tonight.

Residents and business owners who were evacuated from the Fay Street Warehouse Implosion area may now return home.

The Fay Street Warehouse is finally coming down this Sunday March 2nd.

A reminder to all who may be traveling through downtown Utica this Sunday morning, several streets and highways will be closed while the demolition of the Fay Street Warehouse is taking place.

The New York State Department of Transportation will be hosting a pubic information meeting next week on the controlled demolition of the Fay Street warehouse.
