Utica, NY (WIBX) - In an emailed statement to WIBX News, Larry Tanoury, Jr. states that he is ending his campaign for Utica's 2nd Ward Common Council seat.

After loosing the Democratic nomination in last week's primary, Tanoury, Jr., who still is on the November ballot under the Working Families and Independence Party lines, says he is leaving the race because "the likelihood of winning on a minor party line is minimal, and I refuse to be a spoiler in this race".

Tanoury, Jr. went on to say that "It’s extremely important that we elect a person that knows the issues facing West Utica and has the ability to address them.  Mr. Testa ran an outstanding campaign".
