Taylor’s 4 TDs Pushes Bills Past Texans

Tyrod Taylor threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Bills beat the Houston Texans 30-21 on Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium, keeping Buffalo in the playoff hunt at 6-6.

Taylor had 211 yards passing and made TD-connections with Sammy Watkins (3-109-1), Charles Clay (4-66-1), and Robert Woods (2-19-1). LeSean McCoy ran for 112 on 21 carries.

The loss ended the Texans' four-game winning streak. They are also 6-6.

Brian Hoyer had 293 yards, he also three for three touchdowns but was intercepted once. Houston's leading receiver was Cecil Shorts III (6-91-0). DeAndre Hopkins added five catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. The Texans host the Patriots on Sunday Night Football next week.

The Bills are at Philadelphia.

Buffalo kicker Dan Carpenter had missed a 50-yard field goal attempt, but more troublesome was a missed extra-point in the fourth-quarter, his third missed XP of the season. At the time it kept the Bills' lead at 6-points instead of 7. Later in the quarter he did make a 36-yard attempt FG.
