The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children-Mohawk Valley branch has reached a major milestone.

As of December 31st, over 10 million posters of 10,401 missing children have been printed and distributed from the Utica office, which opened in September 1995.

Officials say the achievement has been made possible because of funds raised by the Ride for Missing Children and has led to the successful recovery of 7,125 children.

The poster distribution through NCMEC-NY/MV has a secondary effect on the community as well. “One of the wonderful things about our Utica office is that our posters are manually folded here on a daily basis from special needs and retired adults,” said Program Director Wendy Fical. With only three full time office staff, volunteers are fundamental to the success of the Center and The Ride.

This year's 21st annual ride will take place on June 2nd
