The State of Texas has put to death its thirteenth death row inmate this year.

Raphael Holiday was executed overnight in Huntsville, Texas after the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals rejected an appeal filed on Holiday's behalf.

Holiday was convicted of capital murder in 2002 when three young children died after he burned down his then-girlfriend's home.  The children were his 18-month old daughter and her two half-sisters.

He was execution via lethal injection and was pronounced dead at 8:30pm Central Time.
