These 4 New York Counties Have More Cows Than People
For a state that's home to mega-urban New York City, it may surprise some that there are 4 counties in New York State where there are more cows than people.
This map, created by reddit user metric_maps, shows that 4 counties in New York State, Lewis in Northern New York, Genesee and Wyoming County in Western New York, just east of Buffalo and Yates County in the southern Finger Lakes.
According to New York State's website, "Yates County is host to a large agricultural base that also includes a thriving Mennonite population." While Genesee County, around Batavia has a thriving yogurt production industry.
