LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (AP) — Work is underway on a $15 million Thruway bridge replacement project in central New York.

The state Thruway Authority says Vine Street under the Thruway in Liverpool will be shut down for four weeks starting Monday while the work is going on. The bridges carry the Thruway over Vine Street and CSX Railroad tracks.

The project has been designed to minimize impacts to expressway traffic. It will be done in four stages to maintain two travel lanes in each direction throughout the project, slated for completion by the end of next year.

The Thruway Authority says the work is part of its Capital Program, which expects to invest approximately $494 million in 2017 for future infrastructure improvement projects.
