Utica, NY (WIBX) - On April 30th the Utica Police Department was called to a local nursing home by an 85-year old woman. The woman noticed some inconsistencies in her financial accounts and was concerned about the activities of her accountant.

After an extensive investigation it was learned that on several occasions the woman's accountant closed multiple accounts belonging to the victim, then transferred that money into both his business and personal accounts at Podosek Accounting on Genesee Street.

60-year old Craig Podosek was able to do this because he was her accountant and had power of attorney.

According to police, on 4 different occasions he transferred money totaling over $294,000. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with 3 counts of Grand Larceny and 1 count of Grand Larceny, all felonies.
