UPD Captain Graduates From FBI National Academy
Utica Police Department Captain Charles Kelley recently graduated from the FBI National Academy.
Kelley spent the last ten weeks at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia with 230 other law enforcement officers from around the world.
The FBI National Academy serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.
Kelly also completed a fitness challenge referred to as the Yellow Brick Road. The Yellow Brick Road is a gruelling 6.1-mile run/obstacle course through a hilly, wooded trail built by the Marines.
The students whocomplete the test receive an actual yellow brick to memorialize their achievement.
"The most rewarding and memorable training I have ever attended," said Captain Kelly.
Kelley began his career with UPD in 1999 and currently serves as a division commander.
