Marcy, NY (WIBX) - Utica Police Chief Mark Williams talked with us about drastic cuts in the Utica City Budget.

Williams described the cuts as 'devastating' to the department and expressed concern that there may not be enough investigators to handle the case load, even going as far as to say some lower-level felonies may be put on the back burner.

Williams said the full impact of the Utica Common Council's budget will be a dozen police layoffs, five vacant positions remaining empty and roughly two dozen demotions - brining a cut in rank and pay.
