UPD Promotes 11 Members

The Utica Police Department has promoted 11 members of the force to higher ranking positions.

In a ceremony at City Hall,  two lieutenants were promoted to Captain, 4 Sergeants promoted to Lieutenant and 5 Officers were promoted to Sergeant.

Mayor Robert Palmieri was there to swear in each member of the force.

Chief Mark Williams said he can't remember when so many promotions took place at once, and the 11 promotions may be the most the UPD has ever seen at one time.
