Rome, NY (WIBX) - During the past week, the Civil Air Patrol, in conjunction with the U.S. Air Force, has been conducting a statewide evaluation exercise which will culminate this Saturday at Griffiss International Airport in Rome.

The evaluation will critique the Air Patrol's execution of simulated homeland security search and rescue and disaster relief missions.

Practice searches will be conducted from the air and on the ground.

The intent of the training exercise is to ensure that the New York Wing Civil Air Patrol personnel are qualified and proficient in the event of an actual disaster.
