Utica Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing a Young Child

A Utica man has been arrested for sexually abusing a young child in late May.

According to Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Mark Chrysler, information was received from the Child Abuse Hotline.

It was reported that 39-year-old Christopher Spratt allegedly forced himself on a female under the age of 17.

As a result of the call, Spratt was charged with one count of Attempted Rape in the First Degree.

Spratt has been remanded to OCJ without bail and he will reappear in Utica City Court at a later date.

The victim has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
