A Utica man is under arrested after allegedly stealing a package that was delivered to his home, but did not belong to him.

New Hartford Police say, the investigation stemmed from an incident back in November of 2018.

The package, which was a laptop computer, was unintentionally delivered to the wrong address.

40-year-old Guy Michaud is accused of signing for the package and confirmed he was the recipient by signing for the package.

When the delivery driver realized the mistake, he attempted to correct the mistake, but was not able to.

The laptop was subsequently recovered from a local pawn shop, where it had been sold, and an arrest warrant was issued for Michaud.

He's facing several charges including Grand Larceny and Falsifying Business Records. He's been remanded to Oneida County Jail awaiting his next court appearance.
