Utica Men Arrested
Two Utica men are in the Rome City lockup after allegedly falsely reporting a home invasion.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 30-year old Michael Litz called 9-1-1 and reported that four men entered a home on Rome-Oriskany Road in Rome and assaulted him and his cousin, 36-year old Timothy Bellair.
He claimed the men also caused damage to the property.
Deputies say the report turned out to be false.
Both men were charged with making a false statement.
Litz was also charged with criminal mischief and falsely reporting an incident.
