Utica National Employees Go The Extra Mile For United Way

Employees at the Utica National Insurance Group went "the extra mile" on Tuesday..

They put on their walking shoes for a stroll around the grounds of the company's New Hartford headquarters.

The event was held as part of Utica National's 2016-17 United Way campaign kick-off.

Brenda Episcopo, Executive Director of the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area, says Utica National is the United Way's top fund raising company.

Episcopo says Utica National employees raised $212,000 last year and their goal this year is a five percent increase.  She says that's a significant potion of the United Way's workplace campaign.

The United Way has set a campaign goal of $2.1 million.
