UPDATE: 02/27/2016  8:04am  Utica Police are still processing the crime scene at 1315 Genesee Street in Utica.

UPDATE: 02/26/2016  5:23pm  Utica Police Lt. Steve Hauck is confirming that one man is dead and another is in surgery after there was apparent exchange of gunfire inside the building.

Both victims suffered gunshot wounds.

Hauck says that police have not yet been inside the building to conduct an investigation as they are waiting for a search warrant.  No weapons, therefore, have been recovered.  He says they do believe, however, that the two victims are the only suspects in the case despite the fact that other people were inside when the shooting took place.
