The Utica Police Department is reminding motorists to school down in school zones.

Utica Police conducted a traffic enforcement detail at Albany Elementary School on Friday morning and wrote a total of four speeding tickets.

Earlier this week, eight speeding tickets were issued at Kernan Elementary School.

The UPD will be conducting traffic enforcement details throughout the school year at various elementary and secondary schools in the city.

They say their goal is to reduce traffic accidents in school zones and create a safe environment for children who walk to school.
