Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica Police say a robber wearing a mask and armed with a handgun robbed the Rite Aid on Genesee Street in South Utica overnight.

It happened at about 10:30pm on December 26, 2012.  One store employee was still in the store and was instructed by the gunman to remain in the office.  When police arrived they followed footprints in the snow to Sunset Avenue but are still searching for the suspect.

No surveillance video is available at this time.  However, the suspect is a man described as muscular, six feet tall, and African American.  He was wearing a dark colored mask and gloves, light colored pants, and a light colored jacket with designs "all over."

Rite Aid is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.  Anyone with information is asked to call Utica Police at: (315) 223.3510 or (315) 534.1229.
