Vernon, NY (WIBX) - New York State Police arrested a Utica teen for allegedly driving while intoxicated. 19-year-old Christopher Evans was charged with Aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law, after Troopers say he was stopped for speeding on State Route 5 in the Town of Vernon. 

Evans was allegedly driving 83 in a 55 mile an hour zone while with two underage passengers, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old.

State Police say that a breath test determined that Evans' blood alcohol content was .16%, twice the legal limit. 

Evans was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child along with Aggravated DWI, Driving While Intoxicated, speeding and other traffic charges.
