Utica Woman Arrested for Switching Price Tags at New Hartford Walmart
A Utica woman is facing a Felony charge following her arrest at the New Hartford Walmart.
Police say, 52-year-old Karen Romano allegedly switched price tags on several items while in the self-checkout lane.
Romano was allegedly switching and scanning barcodes from cheaper items at a reduced price and after completing the fraudulent transaction was confronted by Walmart security.
New Hartford Police arrived and arrested Romano. She is facing one count of Petit Larceny and one count of Falsifying Business Records.
Romano was given an appearance ticket and will appear in Town of New Hartford Court at a later date.
