Vestal Man Dies Following Snowmobile Crash

A Vestal man died shortly after a snowmobile crash in Lewis County.

Authorities say 35-year-old Scott Schneider of Powderhouse Road was heading north on Poor Road in the Town of Martinsburg with a group of snowmobiles when the accident happened.

According to state police, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. Friday.

Investigators say Schneider was transported from the scene by a unit from Lewis County Search and Rescue. He was taken to Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville.

Police did not release details surrounding Schneider's death.
