Oneida County, NY (WIBX) - A man suffered head and neck injuries after a rollover accident in the Town of Marshall over the weekend, and another suffered back injuries after an inattentive driver runs a red light.

According to officials, 20-year old Daniel Wiginton of Whitesboro was traveling North on Route 12B when he lost control of his car, slid off the shoulder of the road, and struck the embankment causing his car to rollover. Wiginton was taken to the hospital for treatment, and issued a ticket for Speeding and Failure to Keep Right. Police say his speed was not reasonable for the road conditions, which were snow and ice covered. Wiginton is to appear in the Town of Marshall Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The Rome man was injured in a two car accident on Route 365 at the Intersection of South James Street. Officials with the Oneida County Sheriff's Office say 52-year old Robert J. Alderich was traveling South across the intersection when he and his passenger were struck by another car driven by 45-year old David M. Gage of Sherill. 62-year old Raymond B. Barber, the passenger in Alderich's car was taken to the emergency room for back injuries. Deputies say Gage ran the light at the intersection due to driver inattention and was issued a citation for causing the accident. He is to appear in Rome City Court at a later date.
